I don't have a Mac so I am not 100% sure but I did take a look at the chat rooms manage code for the mac versions and didn't see anything related to custom fonts Have you any rooms with custom looking font?

My best guess is they used ASCII characters. I just tested it out on my rooms and it works just fine. Here's a thread with a bunch of ASCII characters you can copy/paste into your room name: viewtopic.php?f=140&t=9211
